Breakspeare's Dynamic Growth Story
Since its inception in January 2021, Breakspeare Energy has experienced a remarkable trajectory of growth and evolution. Guided by two directors with a rich blend of industry knowledge and broader PLC experience, the company rapidly scaled its operations. Within just a year, we established ourselves as the premier installer of ECO in the Leicestershire region, a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Proudly, we’ve installed over 1,000 energy efficiency measures in our local area, contributing to significant savings for hundreds of households. The shift from the ECO3 scheme, where our focus was predominantly on boilers and underfloor insulation, to the ECO4 scheme in July 2022, marked a pivotal moment in our journey. Embracing change and foreseeing market needs, we broadened our offerings to encompass whole-house energy solutions. Today, our portfolio includes state-of-the-art solar panels, innovative low-carbon heating, and a diverse range of insulation solutions, such as internal and external wall insulation. Our adaptability and forward-thinking approach are further highlighted by our engagement with the newly introduced Great British Insulation Scheme. This initiative allows us to extend even more value to our private customers, offering them opportunities to secure funding for crucial insulation improvements. At Breakspeare Energy, our growth story isn’t just about numbers—it’s about relentless adaptation, commitment to the community, and a vision for a sustainable future.

Frequently asked questions
Answers today for solutions tomorrow.
- The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a UK government initiative designed to support households in reducing their energy consumption and costs. It achieves this by making energy companies responsible for funding energy efficiency improvements for eligible homes. The primary objective is to assist vulnerable and low-income households in improving energy efficiency, thereby reducing energy bills and cutting carbon emissions.
- The scheme started in 2013 and will end in 2026.
- While the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme is designed to support eligible households with energy efficiency improvements, it’s important to understand the potential costs involved.
- Even if you qualify for the ECO, there may still be instances where a customer contribution is required to cover certain expenses. This can vary based on the specific improvements or installations needed for your home.
- We prioritize transparency in all our dealings. After conducting our survey, we will discuss any potential contributions with you in detail, ensuring you’re fully aware of any costs that may be associated with the ECO-supported improvements.
- GBIS was announced by the Chancellor on 23 September as part of the Growth Plan 2022, confirming £1bn of help through the scheme between April 2023 and March 2026.
- GBIS will deliver mainly single, low-cost insulation measures to households rather than multiple measures.
- This will ensure the maximum number of households can receive support through the scheme as quickly as possible.
- The eligibility will be divided into two groups:
Broader group
- Households who are not eligible for support under other ECO schemes. This group will cover all homes in Council Tax bands A-D in England, A-E in Scotland and A-C in Wales, with an EPC of D and below.
Low-income group
- Households that would qualify via the usual ECO4 qualifying criteria.
We provide workmanship, product and financial protection guarantees for all our installations. The length of these warranties are dependent on both the measure and product being installed.
Installation times depend on the measures being installed and can vary from a couple of hours to a couple of weeks.
